UPDATE

By order of the Florida Department of Health:
All pools built without a main drain collector tank must be retrofitted with a properly sized and piped collector tank on or before the following dates to eliminate direct suction through the main drain.

• Wading Pools by May 25, 2010.
• Spa type pools built before 1977 retrofit by July 1, 2010.
• Spa type pools built between 1977-1986 retrofit by July 1, 2011.
• Spa type pools built between 1986-1995 retrofit by July 1, 2012.

All other pools, retrofit by July 1, 2013.
